''I chose aluminium tins because they are so perfectly re-usable, even with the recycling possibilities of plastic there is a real move away from it and your tins are light (most of our business is mail-order) durable and don't buckle when filled with hot oil. Also they look absolutely great, we get compliments on the appearance of our products everywhere we take them and this is partly down to the tins."
"We needed a range of sizes including small tins suitable for sending out samples and you were able to provide these. One of the great things about Tinware Direct is the fantastic customer service, it is really great and the service is quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend Tinware Direct to anyone looking for tins."
Lantern Candles, based in beautiful Somerset UK, produce a range of fantastic scented vegan soy wax candles. Jane, who owns the business, hand pours all the candles herself, ensuring they meet her exact quality standards.
Jane knew she had found her new career after attending a candle making class in 2017, and started the business shortly after. Her key mission was to produce a beautiful scented vegan candle product from soy wax, which her customers could use to create wonderful atmosphere in their homes.
Jane now needed to find suitable packaging that was light, durable and sustainable
Having tried glass which Jane found too heavy for posting and liable to break, she opted to trial metal with her customers. She spoke to Tinware Direct to find out what kind of tins would be most suitable and ordered a range of samples to test. After testing the tins with her products, Jane opted for a lever lid tin. Her customers loved it and now tin makes up her full range of products.
"The 'tin candle' is so popular, and I always receive positive feedback at the craft fairs I attend. My customers love it and so do I. The candle was a resounding success, selling out quickly Over the Christmas period. After this success, Laura was keen to expand her collection with more candles in tins and decided to create a candle using one of our Heart Shaped tins.

Campbells has been making shortbread since 1830 and is the oldest bakery in Scotland. As a heritage brand, the company focuses on creating premium shortbread for the gift market and exports its products across the globe.
Campbells concentrates on developing a number of unique product lines for its shortbread. It sees the packaging itself as an integral part of the overall appeal to consumers. The designs of the tins are specific to an individual audience and Tinware Direct has worked with Campbells to develop all its ranges from the His & Her Collection through to a novelty bus tin.
A deep 3D emboss technique can be used to give packaging a sense of movement. For Campbells classic car collection, we used this deep emboss so that each car appeared to be driving forward to meet you off the packaging itself.
For their luxury tin range a classic design using rich colours and heavy embossing makes the product tactile, inviting consumers to touch and helping the tins stand out on the shelf at point-of-sale.
The unique design of Campbells tins alongside the reusability of tin itself combines to encourage consumers to purchase and collect full product lines.
"As a long time satisfied customer of Tinware Direct, I can say that the service has been impeccable, with no missed deliveries over many years and I would recommend them, without reservation, to anyone looking for a reliable and well-priced tin supplier."
Sian a Nerys are a new start up business and had been developing their products over the past few months. They knew they wanted to produce Welsh herbs and spices tins but hadn’t worked out what they would look like or how they would get them produced. After picking up lots of different jars of herbs and spices in supermarkets, the sisters felt that they needed something a bit different and more sustainable as a long-term storage container.
After extensive research , the sisters found that jars wouldn’t have offered them anything different, They wanted to stand out, but also needed the product itself to be functional, useful and cost effective. Sian and Nerys found that our ready-made tins ticked all of the boxes.
Having chosen the tin, they went on to design the concept for the whole collection, and the actual labels for their different herbs and spices. The sisters hadn’t thought of putting stickers on the tins until they read that this could be done on the Tinware website.
"We found Tinware Direct, liked what we read about the company and were impressed with the range of affordable ready-made tins that they had to offer. As far as we could see there was no other company to match it in cost, product, reviews and reputation. The quality of the tins are exceptional. I haven’t found one defective tin in all of those that I’ve ordered. Definitely choose Tinware, the service is incredible! ”

The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company was founded on bringing innovative products to customers which cannot be found elsewhere. It was their desire to present local seafood and seashore foraged ingredients in innovative and exciting ways.
Their aim is to bring a little bit of the beach to their customers, wherever they are.
The Pembrokeshire Beach Food Company sought to find packaging which was high quality for their Captain Cat’s Môr seasoning, a special blend of spices which Marks & Spencer had agreed to stock on the shelves.
In line with the overall ethos of the company, they wanted to select packaging which was in line with their overall sustainability and ethical policy.
It was important to develop a tin which reflected the company’s unique proposition with materials sourced ethically and sustainably. Tinware Direct's own sustainability policy matched well with Pembrokeshire’s ethos.
The product itself had to be loose in the tin which required an air tight seal for freshness and security, so a lever lid was selected as the most appropriate. As this was Pembrokeshire’s first metal packaged product, Tinware’s development team were instrumental in providing guidance on the most suitable solution to contain the product.
Samples of the tin were produced to colour match and test and once approved the tins were manufactured.
"The customer service you receive from Tinware is exceptional, you can trust that they will do their best for you and your product, and they let you know what’s happening every step of the way.”
Lee Filters was founded in 1967 as part of the group that became Lee International. Lee Filters is now owned by Panavision. Lee Filters has gone on to become the world’s leading manufacturer of lighting, architectural and camera filters, developing precision products for photographers, cinematographers, lighting designers and architects with offices in both the UK and the USA.
Lee Filters had traditionally used cardboard packaging for its resin and polyester filters, but needed to find a more robust solution specifically for its glass filter range. Based on customer feedback, they required packaging which was more robust, durable in the field and offered protection to the product. The packaging also had to be a specific size to fit the filter and required additional protection internally for the product.
The team at Lee Filters undertook a lot of research to find the right material for their product and considered hardened plastic and stronger cardboard. In the end tin packaging ticked all the boxes, not only did it offer the durability required, it also worked out cheaper than the other solutions. A key element of the packaging was the foam insert, which was designed specifically to fit and protect the product.
"Close collaboration is a key element for any procurement team –Tinware Direct were able to meet this requirement and also offered us the perfect packaging solution for our product at a price within our budget. They just ticked all the right boxes .”
