The majority of our tins are made of Tinplate, which is Steel coated with Tin. If the coating of tin is compromised and the steel beneath is subjected to moisture then the tin can rust.
We believe that the containers will be intrinsically clean and should be suitable for direct contact with food, but we would always recommend that you satisfy yourself of the suitability of the product as we are unable to guarantee sterility due to the time factor between manufacture and delivery to yourselves. We would therefore recommend that you take your own precautions to ensure the product is sterile before use.
